Free Games For Your Site: Food Stack and Solitario

Thursday, December 6th, 2007

I have released two new sponsored games on SmileyGamer.com this week: Food Stack and Solitario.

Food Stack is a skill game created by Jacky Riawan. You have to move your platter and catch the delicious falling food. Try to stack as much food on your plate as possible, without dropping it! With the music turned on this is a real “feel good” game, ideal during a break. To put it on your site, download this game package.

Solitario is a puzzle/solitaire created by Hugo St-Onge. Try to remove the pegs from the board by jumping one peg over another. A perfect game would leave only one peg on the board! To put this nice piece of brain food on your site, download the game package!

Have fun!

New Flash Game Released: Elevatorz

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

Yesterday I released my latest flash game, named Elevatorz. It’s a mini action/skill game, based on the classic mac shareware game Social Climber.

In Elevatorz, you must help Mr. Jitters to reach his office at the top of the building, before the time runs out. Since he’s afraid of elevators, he has to cross each floor and use the ladders to get to the next floor. But be careful not to hit one of the moving elevators, as they will knock you out for 3 seconds!

Credits for the graphics go to Israel Lazo from CerebralGames, and music credits go to Matthew Okun, aka mouse63 on NewGrounds, for his splendid song Wah Wah!

Elevatorz is my entry for the MochiAds contest. There’s $5000 in cash and prizes to win, so it can’t hurt to try! :)

If you have an online games site, you can put Elevatorz on it for free! Just download this game package with the swf and thumbnails. More games are available on the SmileyGamer Free Games For Your Site page.

Elevatorz is also available for non-exclusive site-locked licensing. This has the added advantages that the game will be branded for your site, that the in-game ads (MochiAds) will be removed and that the game will be integrated with your highscore system! Contact me for more info!

New Flash Game Released: Smiley Puzzle

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

I have finally done the thing I never expected to do: I made a match-3 action puzzler!

Smiley Puzzle is inspired by the popular games Chuzzle and Fairies. Slide the rows of smilies to form groups of 3 or more smilies of the same color. There are bonuses, combo’s and special items to spice things up. Beat all 24 levels of the Challenge mode, or have endless fun in the Relaxed mode!

Some people might recognize the smiley graphics from the original Smiley Puzzle Project, that was supposed to become a game based on the Enigmatica mechanism.

For now, Smiley Puzzle is exclusively available on the SmileyGamer arcade. It’s our second game featuring the cool 3D rendered smilies, which are also the logo of the SmileyGamer site. The first one, Smiley Memory, recently had quite a succesful public release, after a period of exclusivity. Both games are available for licensing, and a free version of Smiley Memory is available for download. Check out our Games For Your Site page for more info!

Free Game For Your Site: Smiley Memory

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Smiley Memory, the coolest memory game ever, is now available for you to place on your website! You can find out more about the game in this post.

The downloadable game package, available from our Free Games for your Site page, contains the sfw of the free version, some thumbnails and descriptions.

Smiley Memory is also available for licensing, meaning that I will add your logo in the game, and integrate the game with your highscore system. Contact me for more information!

Free Game For Your Site: Jumping Jack

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

A new game has just been released on the SmileyGamer Arcade, named Jumping Jack.

Help Jack to run around avoiding all the obstacles, by making precision small and big jumps. Timing your jumps is important to survive in this action/skill game! The gameplay is based on the popular City Jumper game, but Jumping Jack features nicer graphics and more varied obstacles.

Jumping Jack is created by Eugeniu Lipcean, and sponsored by my flash games arcade SmileyGamer.com.

If you have your own online games site, you can download this game package. There’s also a version without blood available, for family friendly sites. You can find more games to put on your site on SmileyGamer.com!

This is the first game I am sponsoring, but I’m starting to look for more games to sponsor, in order to promote the SmileyGamer website. If you’re a games developer and want to get some money for your work, contact me, and we can discuss a possible sponsorship!

Enigmatica Published On Spill Group Network

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Spill Group, the owner of more than 20 online game portals, has published my flash game Enigmatica on their network! Since last weekend, Enigmatica can be played on all their sites, including www.gamesgames.com, www.spelletjes.be and many others.

This is great news of course, since it means a lot of new people discover my game (about 180000 gameplays in the first 5 days), and a good percentage of those people also click the links in the game to my own online games site, www.smileygamer.com. It’s nice to see Enigmatica getting a bit of a second life, after a slow start!

After the recent release of Smiley Memory, I’m currently working on a new flash game. This one will be a mini arcade game, to be finished somewhere next week. It’s main purpose, besides being fun, is to attract more visitors to my Smiley Gamer site. Since Smiley Memory will only be distributed to other gaming sites at the end of october, this smaller game should fill the void, and give me a chance to develop another larger smiley related game.

Smiley Memory Released: The Coolest Memory Game Ever!

Friday, July 13th, 2007

Finally! The coolest memory game ever has been released to the public! For those who haven’t read my blog yet, Smiley Memory is a challenging memory game, in the popular action puzzler genre. Find the matching pairs of smileys before your lifebar runs out. But beware, making mistakes will make it run out faster. And worse, when the shorter movebar runs out, the smileys will start to move around! Give it a try here or here.

The game was already finished for a while, but due to negotiations I had to wait until today to release it. It’s released simultaneously on both my SmileyGamer arcade site, and on GameGarage.

For 3 months, the game will be exclusively available on these 2 sites only. After this period, it can be licensed by other sites, and after that a free version will also be created and distributed to other online gaming sites.

To end, I’d like to give special thanks to MazeMaster, who’s great song Dreams Of Above is used in the game!

Smiley Gamer Arcade Off To A Good Start

Friday, May 4th, 2007

Three weeks ago I launched the beta version of my new online games arcade, SmileyGamer.com. While the site is still in beta, I already made some changes to the design and color scheme. I went to dark text on a light background, to make it easier on the eyes.

Since the launch, the site has received almost 16000 visitors, and more than 45000 pageviews. This is definitely more than I expected! According to Google Analytics, almost 60% are direct visitors, i.e. not referred by another site. Most of these are people who click on the links in my flash game Enigmatica, which I released not long after the site went live.

In the past few weeks I’ve been spreading the freeware version of Enigmatica to several online game websites. It is surprising to see how many people visit the site thanks to the game. So the free version of Enigmatica is not only giving me a small residual income with the included MochiAds advertisement, but also through the advertising on my website.

Making money with a games arcade is rather hard though, the revenue from Google Adsense ads is very very low. Most visitors visit the site to play games, not to click on ads! :) But fortunately I was accepted with ValueClickMedia last week! They are an ad network that also pays for pageviews of the ad, so I make money even if people don’t actually click on the ads.

The rest of the traffic was mostly obtained thanks to banner exchanges, like MoreGamers and ArcadeBanners, social bookmarking sites like Digg and StumbleUpon, and link exchanges with other arcades.

I still have several features planned for the website, before I can call it final. But even more important is to continue work on Smiley Memory, which will be my next Flash game! Already mentioned before, Smiley Memory will be the first game from the Smiley Puzzle Project. This game will feature the 3D smiley’s also used on the Smiley Gamer site. I expect it to become a lot more popular than Enigmatica, so it will be a great promotion for the site! It’s great to see the Smiley Puzzle Project, originally started more than a year ago, finally come to life!
