Google Adsense

After reading Steve Pavlina’s article about Adsense revenue, I decided to add Google Adsense advertisements to this blog. These are the ads you can see on the left of this page. I tried to make them as non-intrusive as possible, since I’m not really fond of big flashing banners.

A few months ago, I already added adsense to my shareware games site. Up till now, it made me about 10$. So it’s a start… : )
If you’re interested in adding adsense to your own site, you can click on the Google Adsense button on the left, halfway down this page!

I realize this blog still has very little content, and as a consequence, very low traffic. But I plan to grow these, and it will be interesting to see the results of this experiment. My hope is to eventually be able to pay my web hosting with it! : ) My current host is Canaca, and I’m rather happy with them. Their cheapest offer is 3.95$ per month, for 20GB of web space and 500GB monthly bandwidth! So it’s ideal for hosting shareware and music!

[…] But another maybe surprising change, is that I have removed the Google Adsense ads! They were here for almost 3 months, and they haven’t made me a single cent. The main reason is that the ads did not really correspond with the contents of this blog. And as a consequence, nobody clicked on them. […]

[…] A while ago, I signed up with Text Link Ads, a link selling service that sells short text links on your site at a fixed price, and for the duration of 1 month. You can see mine at the left under the Sponsors header. I made $12.5 from this link, half of the $25 the advertiser paid. Since there are 8 spots for links available, I could make as much as $100 per month from these! That’s a lot more than I could possibly make with Google Adsense. They also have an affiliate program, which offers you $25 for referring a publisher or an advertiser. At first, I was a bit sceptical, because my blog is still rather low traffic (but growing!). But since I like to experiment with ways to make money online, I went ahead with it. Signing up is free, so all it took was half an hour to set up… […]
